Golden Knights Return From Break
Top Pasco-Hernando


Carrollton, GA - The West Georgia Technical College Men's Basketball team returned from
Thanksgiving break with a 87-76 home win over Pasco-Hernando State College of Dade City,
FL. The Golden Knights (5-5) took a 43-26 lead into the break and fended off a couple of
charges by the Bobcats in the 2nd half. Sophomores Joe Boyer and San Rozier led WGTC with
15 points each. Villa Rica freshman Rodney Thomas chipped in 10 points.
Coach Niki Okolovitch's squad travels to North Carolina this weekend. On Friday, they will take
on 4th-ranked Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst and Saturday WGTC will face
traditional power Davidson County in Thomasville.

 


WGTC Women Looking to Rebound at Home


Coach Alford Williams' club continues to battle against Division I competition. On Saturday, the
Golden Knights rallied in the 2nd half but could not overcome a slow start, losing 58-48 to
Enterprise (AL). Trailing 31-13 at the break, WGTC outscored the visitors 35-27 in the 2nd half.
The Golden Knights (2-6) were led by freshman Aaliyah Towns' 14 points while sophomore Kia
Jefferson scored 10.
The Golden Knights will be at home this weekend with a Friday matchup against the junior
varsity of Milligan College at 5:00. On Saturday, 6th-ranked Montgomery College (MD) comes
to Carrollton. Last season, WGTC stunned the Raptors in the NJCAA District G Championship
game 81-70 to advance to the National Finals. Tip Saturday is set for 2:00. WGTC home
games are played at Oak Mountain Academy in Carrollton.
