Carrollton, GA – Golden Knights' sophomore guard Victoria Kennedy was named today as the Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) Division III Women's Basketball "Player of the Week."
The guard, who prepped at LaGrange High School, helped lead WGTC to wins over Oxford-Emory and Andrew College last week. Kennedy recorded 6 points with 6 assists and an eye-popping 8 steals in a 72-50 win over Oxford. She then poured in 16 points in a 52-50 win over Andrew Saturday.
The selection is the second such recognition for Coach Alford Williams' club. On January 23, Eriyana Mitchell (Fr, Riverdale-Mt. Zion) was also recognized as the GCAA Division III "Player of the Week."
The Golden Knights have won a season-high 4 straight games and will return to action this Saturday at home against Wallace State – Hanceville (AL). Tip is set for 1:00 at Oak Mountain Academy in Carrollton.
